Why a Recipe Blog

I started blogging in the fall of 2009.  Late, I know.  My family blog has been primarily for journaling our regular, everyday lives - successes and challenges.  It includes MOST of the good, the bad, and the ugly, minus the really, REALLY ugly.

My Singing Time blog, which I maintain to share ideas for teaching children gospel songs and music in my church calling, has had much more public interest and statistical success since I started it last year than my family blog.  But who's counting.

As my children started leaving home, I thought about printing a recipe book so they could have access to our family favorites... but then the brain fog cleared momentarily and I had the brilliant idea to post them on a blog = easy access for anyone and everyone remotely interested in my limited cooking and baking skills and our Syddall Family Approved recipes (mainly family and friends).  Statistics do not concern me (only on rare occasions when I'm feeling unappreciated and lonely).  Purposefulness is my goal.

  1. Thank you for sharing your recipes. Wondering if you have included the recipe for the yummy-looking cinnamon rolls shown at the top of your blog? Your other recipes look fabulous. Can't wait to try them! I am a huge Lemon Bar fan and your recipe sounds so wonderful. Thanks!
